The SVAT 8-Channel H.264 Smart DVR is an inexpensive and easy to use DVR that can be accessed over the Internet or even on your 3G smart phone device such as a BlackBerry or iPhone. You can also have the DVR automatically send you an email alert whenever motion is detected in front of a camera. This way you can keep an eye on your home or business anytime and from anywhere.
This DVR uses the H.264 compression method to generate quality video images while maximizing hard drive space. A total of 240 FPS are available for distribution among the up-to-8 cameras that can be added to this system (cameras are available here). This translates into a full 30 FPS recording speed possible for each camera input (at 352 x 288 resolution).
Video is recorded to an internal 500GB HDD, which can be expanded to 1.5TB (1 internal SATA bay). A USB port means that you can easily back up footage to an external USB HDD or flash memory device. You can also connect an external DVD or CD burner and transfer material to an optical disc media.
SVAT designed this DVR for ease of setup and operation with a menu system that helps you find the tools you're looking for while briefly explaining what each feature does. You can also conveniently access the menu from across the room using the provided IR remote control.
H.264 Compression Saves Disk Space
The 500GB hard drive is designed for high capacity writing, this ensures long product life and accurate video storage. H.264 compression provides an amazing picture while saving almost 50% on storage space versus DVRs with MPEG-4 compression. That means that your system is optimized for up to a month of surveillance.
Coaching iMenu
As you scroll through different settings, helpful information bubbles will pop up to assist you. Learn what each setting means so that you can configure the system to your needs effectively. This user-friendly feature makes it easy to setup and use your DVR.
Smart Phone Compatible
This DVR is compatible with BlackBerry4, Windows Mobile, Symbian and iPhone operating systems. This DVR allows you to utilize 3G technology, which is specifically designed to transmit your video and audio at higher speeds. Your DVR can also be set up to email your hand-held whenever specific activity occurs, such as motion detection.
NOTE: This system is not currently compatible with the new iPhone 4S, however an update to remedy this will be available soon.
